Once again, we’re back at the Dunholme Escapes renovation site! Dust swirling, tools buzzing, and another big structural upgrade underway. In this episode, we take delivery of a seriously heavy steel lintel (not the kind you casually carry under one arm) along with a fresh shipment of concrete bricks ready to form a brand-new wall beside the bathroom. With the buzz saw fired up, we carefully size bricks to fit perfectly into place. Alongside that, we mix what can only be described as a ridiculous amount of cement to keep everything locked in solid. And before that, the steel lintel can be installed, there’s the small matter of chiselling and SDS drilling into the existing wall to create the perfect resting point. Structural work isn’t glamorous, but it is satisfying. With teamwork, patience, and plenty of problem-solving, this week’s progress shows how preparation and precision turn heavy materials into lasting structure.
