Work throughout using the soft ball to add challenge and variety. Difficulty: Moderate Length: 40 minutes This is a mat-based class using the Pilates soft ball to add some variation and a different challenge to the movements. The class begins in standing then continues onto our fronts, sides and onto our backs on the mat. Please always remember to work to a level that you feel safe and comfortable to do. This class includes: Standing spine twist Arm and heel raises Standing scissors with arm circles Split squats with triceps curl Arm and leg swing Rolling warrior Roll downs On our fronts – swimming Hamstring pulses Cobra stretch Double leg lift Clam Side bend with inner thigh squeezes Bridge One leg stretch and abdo prep Hip twist and one leg stretch One leg circle Rotation stretch Glute and hamstring stretches Sitting spine twist The class begins in standing using the soft ball between our hands with a spine twist and arm and heel raises. We then challenge our balance with standing scissors with arm circles. We then continue with the soft ball between our hands with some split squats and triceps curls. We then challenge our movement control with some arm and leg swings and a rolling warrior. We then roll down onto our fronts to continue the class. Using the ball under one hand we work into our swimming movement, then just our legs with some hamstring pulses before stretching our spines into extension with a cobra stretch. Moving onto our sides we then engage our glutes and core with a double leg lift and clam movements. Onto our elbows we work our obliques with a side bend and use the ball to add some additional inner thigh squeezes. We then continue the class round onto our backs with a bridge and one leg stretch with abdo prep exercises. Then using the ball under one foot to challenge our core muscle control with a hip twist, one leg stretch and one leg circle movements. We then cool down with a rotation stretch, glute and hamstring stretches. Finishing the class in sitting with a spine twist and arm reaches. Interested in more Pilates?
