Energising Pilates class. Perfect to kick start your day. Difficulty: Moderate Length: 32 minutes Engage, strengthen and stretch key muscles throughout the body with this energisng Pilates class. The class begins in standing then continues into four-point kneeling onto our sides and onto our backs. Please remember to always work to a level that you feel safe and comfortable to do, especially with more challenging exercises. This class includes: Standing toe walking with front raise pull back Squats with heel raises Standing ab curl Scooter Step back to single leg stand Roll downs Four-point kneeling cat stretch Tuck and kick with arm press Plank Child pose with side bend stretch Thread the needles Onto out elbow – ab fold and stretch Leg lift and lower Bridge with marching legs Double leg stretch Dynamic hamstring stretch Rotation stretch Sitting glute stretch, ‘Y’ stretch, spine twist and tree hug The class starts in standing warming up through our arms and legs with some toe walking with front raise pull backs. We then warm up into our legs with squats and heels raises then engage our abdominal muscles with a standing ab curl. We then work our arms and legs together with a scooter movement before challenging our balance with a step back to single leg stand. We then mobilise our spines with a roll down then with a cat stretch into four-point kneeling. We continue in four-point kneeling working our upper body and abdominal muscles with a tuck and kick with arm press and plank movements. We then stretch our spines with a child pose with side bend and thread the needle movements. Moving onto our sides, we have the option of coming onto our elbow to engage our upper body, with an ab fold and stretch and a leg lift and lower. We then move onto our backs and start here with a bridge with marching legs and a double leg stretch movements. We then begin to cool down with a dynamic hamstring stretch and rotation stretch. Finishing into sitting with a glute stretch, ‘y’ stretch and spine twist movements. _____________ Interested in more Pilates?
