Butterflies are not only extremely elegant and beautiful, they also serve important roles in the ecosystems that they are a part of: perhaps most significantly pollinating important food crops and flowers. Over the past four decades butterfly populations have been decreasing, with many species (including the Monarch) inching closer to extinction. As with the butterfly, many other of our sacred species, traditions, languages, cultures etc. are going extinct. In these talks we will hear from individuals and groups that are working to re-enliven, re-connect and re-engage through acts of education. Although these projects will be shared individually they are part of a larger distributed global movement. Each of these actions are significant with impacts and effects far beyond. These talks are organized to connect, share, inspire and spread these Butterflies' effects wider for the sake of re-vitalizing our human and non-human ecosystems.
