Unravelling T Cell Recognition: Insights from Immunology and AI -- Dr Chris Thorpe

Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) molecules are a cornerstone of the adaptive immune system, presenting antigens to T cells for immune surveillance. While there are many experimentally determined 3D structures of MHC molecules, they represent limited diversity and only a small fraction of potential complexes. Despite this, patterns in antigen presentation and recognition emerge from the available data. This webinar will discuss how robust benchmarking and machine learning predictions (e.g., AlphaFold) can help extend our understanding, leveraging synthetic data. Dr. Thorpe will also present novel structural data representations developed for clustering, prediction validation, and future generative models.
