Welcome to my channel. Where I document life and gardening both at home and at the allotment. I am based in Lincolnshire , UK. I return to the allotment after a 3 week break for illness and hospital appointments and recuperation. I have had a walk up and pottered during this time which is why everything does look tidy but it was 30 minutes to an hour each visit so I didn't do much filming. The compost bins at plot 1 have always been in the way but were full so I had to wait for this opportunity to move them. I harvest any remaining parsnips with the intention of making a parsnip soup. Any remaining beds needing a mulch have now been done at plot 1 and the only bed left to do is the strawberry bed . I will buy in some compost for that one. Today we start building new raised beds down at plot 2 and plant a cherry tree I bought on clearance variety is Lapins which is a self fertile variety originating from Canada. This can be kept small at around 8 feet I just cannot prune it at this time of year. We still have carrots in at plot 2 there is a few left. Still plenty more to do but we had a good 5 hours at it. The weather is about to change. Thankfully we are staying above freezing for a week or two so we can dig at least. The peppers in the greenhouse at plot 2 were left in the ground and mulched with hay however we have had the lowest temps on record for a while , my greenhouse at home got as low as -6.6 Celcius so I am pretty sure we did lose them but at the moment I've left them in just in case ! Ever the optimist I know ! Thanks for watching #parsnips #gardening #plants #cherry #weeding #compost #raisedbedgarden #growyourownfood #allotmentgardening
