Sand mining is a threat to the environment. In this talk, Sumaira Abdulali, a bold and determined environmentalist, addresses it's ill effects and the changes one can bring about to reduce the impact of illegal sand mining on nature. She is the founder of the NGO Awaaz Foundation and the Convener of the Movement against Intimidation, Threat and Revenge against Activists (MITRA). She is from a family of environmentalists, and is pioneer to many movements against noise pollution and illegal sand mining in India. Her bold ideas, determination and her compassion for the environment is what that inspires her to achieve her goals.
