#Dtc #delhicrime #delhipolice #delhi A piece of good news has come for people traveling in DTC buses in Delhi. The Special Staff team of the South-East district has busted a gang that had been targeting passengers for a long time and stealing their mobile phones. In this operation, the police arrested the gang leader, Rajesh, a resident of Gautampuri. What came to light after his arrest is truly shocking. The police recovered 188 stolen mobile phones from Rajesh, worth around ₹30 lakh. Just imagine — if such a huge number of phones were seized from just one accused, the actual figure of theft could be far higher. Along with the phones, the police also seized a country-made pistol, one live cartridge, and an auto-rickshaw from him. It was also found that Rajesh already had 13 serious cases registered against him, including theft, robbery, and possession of illegal weapons. On August 7, the police received information that the mastermind behind the DTC mobile theft gang would be coming to Gautampuri in an auto-rickshaw. Acting on this tip-off, the police laid a trap and caught him. During the search, a firearm and cartridge were recovered, and later, based on his disclosure, all 188 stolen mobile phones were also seized. During interrogation, Rajesh revealed his well-organized method. His associates would travel in different DTC buses and take advantage of the crowd to pick passengers’ pockets and steal their mobile phones. After that, they would get off the bus, hand over the stolen phones to Rajesh waiting in the auto, and then board another bus to commit more thefts. This cycle continued throughout the day, allowing them to steal several phones daily. The case is not only shocking but also concerning because the sheer number of stolen mobiles shows how experienced and efficient such gangs have become in carrying out crimes. However, the swift action of the Delhi Police has not only dealt a blow to this major gang but also given a sigh of relief to DTC passengers. The police are now searching for the remaining members of the gang to further strengthen passenger safety in public transport. #DelhiPolice #DTCBus #MobileTheft #PickpocketGang #DelhiCrimeNews #188MobilePhones #PublicTransportSafety #DelhiNews2025 #CrimeReportDelhi #PickpocketArrest #DelhiBreakingNews #DTCBusSafety #DelhiPoliceAction #MobileChor #DelhiLatestNews
