Haigh Woodland Parkrun Rewind (POV) - The Run - Event 375 - 03/08/2024 This video is from August 2024, which I had lying on my GoPro and hadn't done anything with until now. The footage is not as stable as other recent videos as the camera was mounted on a chest mount, rather than a head mount. It gives you some idea though of what to expect from the course, if you've never been to Haigh Woodland. Another more stable video will be uploaded in the near future. My 55th parkrun at this event finishing in 121st place with a time of 29m16s. My PB on this course stands at 23m23s set on 07/09/2019. An enjoyable event in the woodland of Haigh in Wigan, featuring some moderate and steep-ish inclines in places. Terrain is mostly trail paths with a section of tarmac paths. The course is undulating throughout. The first half is downhill, the second half is uphill with a few level sections so you can catch your breath. This a one lap course. Expect leaves, mud, tree roots, low branches, brambles and nettles out on the course in Summer and expect to use trail shoes in the wetter months. Normal road trainers are fine on a dry course. Note, there is ample parking, a visitors centre, cafe and toilet facilities at this event. There are numerous other activities and many trail walks/runs/cycle routes.
