Exploring the English Countryside, Hope Cove is a picturesque seaside village located on the southern coast of Devon, England. Hope Cove has a rich maritime history, originally serving as a small fishing village. The area was known for its involvement in smuggling during the 18th and 19th centuries due to its secluded coves and proximity to the coast. It was also a haven for shipwrecked sailors, with the local community often involved in rescue operations. Located on the hill overlooking the village, this small, historic church of St. Clement dating back to the 13th century and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. The beaches and coastal waters are monitored to maintain high environmental standards, including water quality and wildlife protection. A beautiful walk!
