Beautiful day at this hidden gem in Middle Tennessee. I think the most fitting description is it is the most exotic-looking spot I have found in a state full of natural beauty. The water was the perfect temperature. Visitors, who are encourage to "swim at their own risk" can climb up onto the lowest tier to get a most intimate experience with the rushing water. The most striking feature of the site to me was the vines and undergrowth cascading down the rock walls on either side, like a natural "hanging garden" that was so visually captivating. I would encourage visitors to bring water shoes with them; the rocks were a bit tiresome to walk on, and required careful navigation to avoid bruising a toe or cutting the foot. Go in the early afternoon, just after the sun reaches it's peak, and be rewarded with a dazzling display of the sun playing on the water cresting the precipice. Standing at the bottom of the falls looking up is breathtaking at this time of day. This site requires reservations ahead of time, as it is on the private property of a resort, but well worth the cost.
