MCF Recipe #163 Music Courtesy by Prem Machado Hello Friends! With the change of weekends for UAE to match most of the world it has been a roller coaster since 3 weeks. So officially we are going to be having our weekends on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday we did previously. Happy to have same weekends as all my friends in the Asian continent and the West but still comes with a lot of changes. Anyways that has been a major happening and with that let me get into our recipe for today. Mirroring the happy state of affairs on this change thought of wanting to celebrate and hence struck on chocolate. So todays recipe is the world famous Bounty bars. Also known as ‘Mounds’ and mounds bars this is from the ‘Mars chocolate manufacturer’ renowned for some of the chocolate bars we get in stores like snickers, mars, twix etc. The Bounty bars is one of the most popular and is a mesmerizing combination of coconut and chocolate. With very few bars in this line this is by far the best you will get if you are a coconut and chocolate fanatic like me. This most popular bar of Canada and knows as ‘Mounds’ or ‘Almond joy’ in the US this coconut chocolatey delight is what you will die for. Its just that good and you will have to try it to believe the burst of flavours and the mesmerizing effect it has. Its extremely easy to make with just 3 ingredients and about 30 mins with an hour of resting time for the refrigeration. Using a very good quality and sweetened flavour condensed milk with good quality desiccated coconut is mandatory to get the perfect bars for amateurs. Don’t worry on the shape in case you are not able to get the perfect bar shape during the process and the taste still is mind blowing. You can use the chocolate chips or plain chocolate as per availability. But chocolate is tricky to cook and either burns if overcooked or lumps up if undercooked. Hence I always use the double boiling as mentioned and shown. Hope you try this simple and easy recipe for the perfect succulent and chocolatey homemade Bounty bar chocolate and share your experiences and pics as always. #Bounty Bars #MoundBar #3Ingredient #CoconutChocolateBars #KidsFavourite #MyCookingFantasy #MCF Ingredients: • Desiccated coconut : 1 cup • Condensed milk : 1/2 cup • Chocolate chips : 1 cup (approx. 200gm) Instructions: • Take a bowl. • Add the desiccated coconut and condensed milk to the bowl. • Mix with a spatula. • Once combined well and you can hold shape. • Take 1 tbsp of the mixture and make a ball and then cylindrical shape. • Repeat the same process for the rest of the mixture. • Arrange all the bar shaped coconut pieces on a plate. • Refrigerate for 1 hour. • After 1 hour, take boiling water in a sauce pan. • Place a steel bowl above the saucepan. • Add the chocolate chips to this bowl. • After 1 min start stirring until it melts. • Once melted take it out from the saucepan. • Mix well for a minute. • Now take the coconut bar from the fridge. • Dip one by one in the chocolate sauce. • Use a fork to take the coconut bar and dip in the chocolate. • Once the bar is dipped completely, transfer to a baking sheet covered tray. • Repeat the same process for all the bars. • Now place these chocolate coconut bars in the fridge for 1 hour. • After an hour remove from the fridge and take out the excess chocolate from the sides of the bar. • Yummy, tasty, delicious and easy 3 ingredient Bounty bars is ready to munch on. Tips: • If no desiccated coconut, fry the fresh grated coconut and use. • If the mixture is sticky, then add more desiccated coconut. • If you feel its dry, then add more condensed milk. • The quantity of the condensed milk or desiccated coconut used may vary based on the quality used. • Ensure not use a glass bowl to melt the choco chips. • You can alter chocolate chips with cooking chocolate. • Using a fork will avoid the coconut to stick on the hands and not alter shape. • If the shape varies also the taste is exactly like your store bought bounty bars.
