Full journey on board a Manchester Metrolink M5000 Tram on the Metrolink Yellow line from Bury Interchange to Piccadilly Station. Services on this Metrolink line to Bury are part of the Yellow and Green coloured Metrolnk lines. In the full timetable services on the Yellow line (Piccadilly to Bury) operate every 12 minutes with the Green line (Bury to Altrincham) operating every 12 minutes forming a 6 minute service on the core section of this route between Victoria and Bury. Note that the Green line only operates at certain times of the day and does not operate for the full operating times of Metrolink. Services on this route are formed of double and single trams. This Metrolink route largely uses disused railway lines with these sections making up the majority of the route (Bury to Victoria) note that although this route operate over most of the old rail alignment the tram diverts to the Manchester city centre streets at Victoria where separate Metrolink and National Rail platforms are provided. The section through Manchester city centre is on Street running with the Yellow line being the only Metrolink route to run direct between Market Street and Piccadilly Gardens with all other Metrolink city centre routes from Victoria either going towards St Peters Square or via Exchange Square. The route under Piccadilly station is in a tram only tunnel shared with the Purple, Blue and Orange Metrolink routes. Parts of this route share track with other Metrolink routes with all other Metrolink routes at least partly sharing some track even if it is just through 1 tram stop/station. The main interchange points for this line are at Victoria (Green, Pink, Brown and Navy) and Piccadilly Gardens (Purple, Blue and Orange). There are direct National Rail interchanges on this route at Victoria and Piccadilly. The Metrolink Yellow line can be used as a connection between Piccadilly and Victoria stations as an alternative to the hourly TransPennine Express service via the Ordsall Chord.
