This video explains the interface of Dromed 2 for those who are not familiar with Dromed and are wanting to learn. I cover the layout of the windows, dropdowns, moving objects within a mission, properties, object hierarchy, etcetera. *Note that I'm referring to Thief 2's level editor, commonly referred to as "dromed 2" over at the TTLG Editor's Guild sub-forum. The '2' does not represent the actual version number of the editor, just that it's the "2nd version" of the dromed editor. Sorry for any confusion, I realize now this may not be very clear. To further clarify, the actual official version number is 1.18, and if you're using the 'NewDark' unofficial game patch then you may have Dromed 1.19 or higher.* If you are already familiar with dromed then this won't be of any interest to you, unless you are coming from dromed 1.18 and are curious about what has been changed for dromed 1.19. I don't go into great detail about that though. Relevant Links: Dromed Toolkit 1.0: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread... Thief 2 1.19 Patch Thread: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread... I learned a new selection method for the NewDark version of Dromed. In modders_notes.txt that comes with the new patch, there's this: "Holding down CTRL while clicking in a 2D viewport will use an alternative selection mode (aka precision-selection). In this mode you have to click ON a brush edge to select it, and if multiple brushes are overlapping on a point, clicking multiple times will cycle through each brush in that point. This allows easier selection in dense locations without having to resort to filters or cumbersome cycle_near functionality. There are config vars to configure the pixel tolerance of what constitutes ON an edge ("selection_pixel_margin"), and to make precision- selection the default selection mode ("precision_select_default)." So basically in a nutshell that is an easier way to select certain brushes when you're having trouble selecting a brush that is overlapping another. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO CHANGE SIZE OF DROMED WINDOW Open up your thief folder where dromed.exe resides. Find a file called USER.CFG and open it with Notepad. Find the line that says "edit_screen_size." Remove the semicolon in front and then change the dimensions to 1024,768. Save and close the file. There you go. Next time you open dromed it should be at 1024 x 768 instead of 800 x 600.
