The Skagit River is one of the largest rivers in northwest Washington. It starts in Canada then makes its way through the North Cascades and through Skagit County to Puget Sound. There are three hydroelectric dams on the Skagit River: Gorge, Diablo and Ross. This trail starts near the Diablo Dam and follows parallel to Diablo Lake, until the Ross Dam. We did this hike on November 21, 2020 on a beautiful fall day. I added bonus footage of the Gorge Creek Falls which are easily accessed and seen from Highway 20. We stopped there after the hike. Our starting elevation was 1,300 feet, and our highest point was 2,000 feet, for a total of 6.5 miles. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
