(You will use 1/2 C. in the casserole and the other 1/4 C. to top casserole with) 1 C. Chopped White or Yellow Onion 3 Cloves Garlic Minced 2 T. Butter (Salted or Unsalted) 1 T. Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 T. All-Purpose Flour 32 oz. Chicken Stock or Broth 1 & 1/2 C. Half and Half 1 t. Salt or to your taste Bread Crumb Topping: 4 T. Butter melted and slightly cooled 2/3 C. Bread Crumbs (I use Progresso Plain Bread Crumbs) Mix together and sprinkle on top of casserole Bake @ 400 degrees covered with foil 20-25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
