Short Tesco, Mini Tesco and two large Cranes at Carlisle 02 Sept 25 The Pendle Dalesman had been cancelled - no matter it would have been diesel hauled by the usual 47s and 57s. The Tyne Yard Engineers train went out from Carlisle Yard with a single wagon of Ballast but returned with two large cranes, posing for us in B Road. After the previous day's issues with the Tesco train (damaged wheelset south of Preston) two shorter trains passed through Carlisle. One all the way from Daventry with the shorter one being from Preston. We have the Gypsum empties from Kirkby Thore British Gypsum works returning to Tees dock via Carlisle Yard. Quite a long engineer's train of ballast from Carlisle YArd to Crewe. We also have a pair Multi purpose Vehicles configured now for Rail Head Treatment heading through Carlisle for Scotland, The RHTT season is close. DB Cargo are still running route training runs on those sections of the Cumbrian Coast line which are still open. The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.
