ARMENIAN WOMEN: Strength, Exotic Beauty and Cultural Heritage

With my wife Dace we traveled to the other side of the map again and we are in Armenia, a country in the Caucasus region. Join us, we are going to walk its streets to see what happens and share it with you. The first thing that caught our attention as we wandered through the streets of Yerevan is that the Armenians have particular features that are quite different from what we are used to in our previous journeys. The shape of the eyes, eyebrows, noses and even the skin tone confirm that we are on another side of the map, undoubtedly constituting another canon of beauty. A "canon of beauty" refers to a set of standards or criteria that are considered socially accepted or ideal in terms of physical appearance and beauty. These standards vary over time and across cultures, and can influence how beauty is perceived in a given society. The beauty canon can cover different physical aspects, such as weight, body shape, facial features, skin color, hair, and other aesthetic attributes. Armenian women have particularities and characteristics that reflect a particular profile, culture and Armenian society. Often these standards can be influenced by the media, the fashion industry, advertising, and other forms of cultural influence. Armenian women are recognized for their distinctive beauty. Many of them have striking facial features, such as expressive eyes, defined lips, and dark hair. In addition, they tend to take great care of their personal appearance and have an innate sense of style. The family is very important in Armenian culture, and women play a fundamental role in the nuclear family. They are charged with the responsibility of raising children, maintaining the family unit, and passing down cultural traditions from generation to generation. Women in Armenia have made significant gains in education and labor force participation. Many of them obtain a university education and excel in fields such as medicine, law, engineering and technology. The history of Armenia has been marked by various challenges, Armenian women have shown remarkable resilience and strength in times of adversity, facing difficult situations with determination and courage. Armenian women have a deep attachment to their cultural heritage and Armenian traditions. They participate in celebrations and festivities, preserving and promoting traditional Armenian music, dance and gastronomy.
