Part 7 titled "Pharmacology" is probably one of the highest yield of lectures 7-12 that I will do. The topics "Pharmacology" and "Retina" might have the most possible questions in ocular disease. The NBEO drug list has 450+ drugs- the goal is not to memorize that, but instead start with your top 5 drugs that you personally will use for your practical "toolbox" drugs. I quickly went through that list and only checked off about 50 drugs instead. The part of this lecture is about being aware of the side effects, and safe prescribing. I highly recommend starting your pharmacology review by reading the 2019 Thomas and Melton Ophthalmic Drug Guide (from Review of Optometry) as the best organized resource for learning drugs. Continue to use Review of Optometry articles for clinically relevant details. Look at that example of "doxycycline" article that briefly pointed out several great test questions. The goal by the end of the lecture is to be safe and efficient clinical thinking for boards and practice.
