Rev. Ezra Yongeza Mukonzo has pledged guidance to the Baptist Church in Uganda for membership into the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda, an umbrellas organization for religious institutions so as to jointly address issues of common interest. This was echoed over the weekend after the service that saw the Baptist Church in Central Africa-Kabuyiri at Mpondwe Custom’s border in Kasese district elevated to a parish status. The outspoken Church of Uganda Minister, called for unifying environment among Church leaders from different religious denominations. Lt. Maate Magwara, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Bukonzo County hailed the Baptist Church for several developments to the local communities in the fields of education and health in Uganda and the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo. Lt. Magwara, the Chief Guest at the function, also commended the Baptist Church for several literature that shape grounds for justice and democracy in and outside the African continent. Hon. Kule Balitazale Benson, OBR Prime Minister called for unity and togetherness meant for development. He requested church leaders to ably give inspirational message that will build the region. Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese district chairperson called for peaceful living among Christians, commended the Baptist church particularly for Compassion International, a project he says has enhanced the health and education mainly among children from poor families. Rev. Pr. Richard Bwambale Matembele and Rev. Pr. Moses Kaiso, Kabuyiri Baptist Church, thanked God for the milestone in what he called a progressing Church of Christ. END
