Apart from having the best stats in Gen 1, it also had virtually no weaknesses. Only Bug was super-effective against it, and its most powerful move is Twineedle. Another Gen 1 quirk is how broken critical hits are directly tied to the user's speed. As Mewtwo is tied for second overall with Aerodactyl and Jolteon, critical hits are going to be fairly common. Not only that, but they also ignore all stat changes, effectively doubling Mewtwo's power. Nothing however is more broken in Gen 1, than the move Amnesia. As the special stat was not yet split in Gen 1, it acted as both offense and defense. Using just one Amnesia boosts special by two stages, allowing Mewtwo to sponge virtually anything while dealing serious damage. To make things even worse for opponents, Substitute is included as the ultimate defensive move. In the Pokémon Stadium series only, status moves cannot pass through a decoy. Mewtwo can freely set up with Amnesia, without worrying about paralysis or poison to wear it done. Substitute also acts as a free turn for Mewtwo to Recover HP with little fear. To summarize: Substitute protects Mewtwo from being frozen, paralyzed and poisoned. Amnesia combined with Substitute sponges any special attack. Recover is needed mainly to keep using Substitute. Lastly, Psychic cuts anything down with its significant critical hit rate. Safe to say, Mewtwo is seriously OP! #mewtwo #pokemon #pokémonstadium #mew #articuno #zapdos #moltres #n64 #nintendo64 #gamefreak #brokengaming #retro #retrogaming #retrovisionist @warmfuzzyblanket5337 @retrogaming1991 @TheDustyJoypad @theaxelshifter3746 @jazzabighits4473 @Jamey Rose The Hedgehog @pinoySC2 @CreamDollYT @EmettSand @MuttonfudgeRacing
