Welcome back to 5-minute Fridays! For today's workout, all I'm using is an exercise mat and my jump rope If you don't have a mat, a towel may suffice. If you're working out on a carpeted floor or on grass, you may not need anything at all If you don't have a jump rope, that's fine. You can just substitute with any cardio exercise you want while I'm jumping rope Here's what we're doing today: 1. 3x mini squat + 1 squat jump 2. Side jump lunges 3. 3x bicycle + 1 single-leg toe touch 4. Commando pushup + chest lift 5. Jump rope (any style) Set your timer for 10-second rest intervals & 50-second work intervals x 5 rounds. This is 5 minutes. You will do each exercise just once, spending 50 seconds on each exercise before moving on to the next one and resting for 10 seconds in between exercises If you want more SLAP workouts, you can try my SLAP workout challenge. There are 2 playlists to choose from so if you are a beginner or if you want workouts that are shorter, simpler, and don't require any exercise equipment, click here: • 6th Annual SLAP Challenge If you are more advanced and you want workouts that are more challenging, longer, and incorporate some basic fitness equipment, click here: • 5th annual SLAP challenge Follow me on IG / bugsusan My jump rope: https://doubleunderwonder.com/product... If you excel at jump rope and you would like to increase the difficulty, you can do something more advanced, like high knees or jump rope jacks for example. Any style of jump rope you want to do is fine • If you don't have a jump rope, you can substitute with 50 seconds of any kind of moderate-paced cardio exercise you want while I'm jumping rope. So you can jog in place, you can do high knees, jumping jacks, pendulum, mountain climbers, whatever works for you. You can even just pantomime jumping rope • If the variations of squats, lunges, abs, & pushups I'm doing today don't work for you, remember that the really great thing about SLAP workouts is that you can do any variation of these 4 exercises you want and it will still work • If this is all you're doing today, great. It is always better to do something than nothing. But this little 5-minute workout makes a great warmup for a more intense workout or for a longer, moderate-paced cardio session like a long run or bike ride, a tough hike, or a jump rope session for example. You could also use it as a finisher if you want. So these little 5-minute workouts are a great option for those days when you have absolutely no time for a workout, but there are plenty of other ways to incorporate them into your exercise regimen • As always, if anything is unclear about the format, if you have questions about how to do these exercises with the proper form, if you need help with beginner modifications, please just ask. It is extremely important that you understand how to do these exercises correctly before you begin the workout so that you reduce your risk of injury and so that you get the maximum benefit out of each exercise. It is also very important to me that all of my workouts are always accessible to anyone and everyone who wants to do them with me, so I am always here to help facilitate that. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or if you need help Thank you for watching!
