Even with Hydrocity's new Outro, the intro to Mirage Saloon is the same. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles just somehow meet up with each other and immediately board the Tornado through a western desert in Sonic 2's Westside Island. Then Heavy Magician shows up, and knocks Knuckles into the canyon below, separating him from his friends once again. If you are actually playing as Knuckles when this happens, you'll get to see what happens to him, yourself. For Knuckles' Act 1 of this zone, with unique Rap music based on his Sonic Adventure themes, you have to have him climb out of the canyon he got through into. The layout of his Act 1 is accustomed to his gliding and climbing ability. 0:30 - Somehow I forgot again that this wasn't an actual path. I decided to make it the video thumbnail. The Act 1 boss is even a variation of the Uber Caterkiller that Sonic and Tails fights. For Knuckles, it fights more like the Bead Worm Boss from Sonic Chaos. ---------- After Act 2 starts, it still starts out in a different area that only Knuckles can access, but he will eventually be lead back into the main route that Sonic & Tails go through. You finally get to confront Heavy Magician and her nasty tricks at the end of Act 2. She will transform into Fang the Sniper/Nack the Weasel, Bean the Dynamite, and Bark the Polar Bear, each with their own attacks. Let the little sound edit I made at the very end of this video remind you of how much of a missed opportunity it was to let Knuckles have his cowboy hat in this zone. The same hat from the Sonic OVA.
