Visit Revelstoke, BC Canada We welcome you to join us today as we head to the town of Revelstoke in British Columbia, as we make our way back to Vancouver Island, wher we take in great beer, food and an amazing vibe We are Scott and Steph, a couple of adventurers seeking out fun, unique and beautiful spots while camping in our converted Ford transit van, Stella. Revelstoke History - Founded in the 1880s, Revelstoke grew around the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway, becoming a vital stop along one of Canada’s most ambitious national projects. Now with a population just over 8000 people, it's main industries are forestry, transportation, hydro electric and of course tourism and recreation. With Revelstoke having a large ski mountain, these peaks have become a playground for explorers and powder seekers, turning Revelstoke into a world-class adventure hub. Revelstoke mountain resort sits on the slopes of Mount Mackenzie and is home to the longest lift accessed vertical drop of any ski resort in North America at over 1700 metres. The resort first opened in 2007, and has grown to a major destination for skiing , snowboarding and back country touring. Its location in the Selkirk Mountains gives it a deep consistent snowfall each year. The mountain is also home to avalanche education and mountain safety programs. Get ready to drop into one of Revelstoke’s most thrilling rides — the Pipe Mountain Coaster. This gravity-powered track launches you down the slopes of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, twisting through forests and open views of the Columbia River Valley. You control the speed and it is for all ages so even if you are not a big coaster fan you will enjoy this! It’s fast, it’s scenic, and it’s one of the must-do adventures in Revelstoke, BC. We enjoyed this so much that we immediately rode it again. The only downside is that it is not open year around. This coaster runs from late may to September only. After a fun day on the mountain we went to Old School Eatery for dinner. It was absolutely fabulous and we high recommend the asian sticky ribs! You can see the full menu here https://oldschooleatery.ca/. After dinner we went out on the town for a night cap at the Village Idiot Bar and Grill before we headed back to our campsite for the night. You can check out their menu and offerings here http://www.thevillageidiot.ca/ Snowforest Campground sits within Mount Revelstoke National Park, offering one of the few drive-in camping areas inside a protected inland rainforest. It is located very conveniently to town and has the best bathrooms we have ever seen! There is a large brand new building that has hot showers, tons of sinks and mirrors to get ready, and your own private toilets. We would 100% stay here again! To book you need to go through Parks Canada website here https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/reve... Mount Revelstoke National Park, established in 1914 protects a unique stretch of the Selkirk Mountains. The park is known for its summit access where visitors can drive the 26 km, meadows in the sky parkway from valley bottom, to subalpine meadows. With the elevation gain, the ecosystem shifts from an inland rainforests to spruce fir forest and finally to alpine. Mountain caribou, black bears and barred owls can be seen in the area. Mount Revelstoke is also notable for its historic ski jumping site, one of Canada earliest competitive ski venues. One last stop before we head back to Vancouver Island is Mount Begbie Brewing. This brewery is beautifully located with a fantastic view of Mount Begbie and has a fantastic selection of food and drinks. To find out more you can check out their website here https://www.mt-begbie.com/ Well that wraps our time here in Revelstoke, and we had a blast and we will be back to this area, but now its time to make our way to the ferry back to Vancouver Island but joining us next time for Birthday Fall Camping, in an atmospheric river, on West coast of Vancouver Island So please stick around for more of our adventures. 0:00 - Intro 0:38 - Revelstoke History 1:06 - Revelstoke Mountain Resort 2:40 - Pipe Mountain Coaster 4:52 - Old School Eatery 7:27 - Snowforest Campground 8:23 - Mount Revelstoke National Park 9:20 - Mount Begbie Brewing #revelstoke #revelstokecamping #revelstokemountainresort #pipemountaincoaster #roadtripcanada #revelstokecoaster #mountbegbie #mountbegbiebrewing #oldschooleatery #villageidiotrevelstoke #britishcolumbia #explorebc #rockymountainroadtrip #VanLife #vanlifers #mountaincamping #travelvlog #travelcouple #Canada #fordtransit #bccamping #bcparks #explorebritishcolumbia #travelcanada #explore #selkirkmountains #mountrevelstoke
