2026 01 18 [영적 왕권] 요한복음 18:36-37 찬송가 246 요한복음 18: 36 예수께서 대답하시되 내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니니라 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것이었더라면 내 종들이 싸워 나로 유대인들에게 넘겨지지 않게 하였으리라 이제 내 나라는 여기에 속한 것이 아니니라 37 빌라도가 이르되 그러면 네가 왕이 아니냐 예수께서 대답하시되 네 말과 같이 내가 왕이니라 내가 이를 위하여 태어났으며 이를 위하여 세상에 왔나니 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하려 함이로라 무릇 진리에 속한 자는 내 음성을 듣느니라 하신대 (개역개정) [The Spiritual Kingship 영적 왕권] Pilate could find no worldly evidence of Jesus' claim to kingship. Jesus had no forceful groups, political assistants, or army. The spiritual nature of His kingdom was demonstrated when, even as He was being arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, He did not allow Peter to act as a bodyguard when Peter cut off Malchus' ear. 1) Jesus manifested the evidence of His kingship and spiritual kingdom as fundamentally different from the kingdom of this world. The first piece of evidence is the phrase in verse 36: ‘My servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews.’ The point is that everything concerning Jesus is under God's control, underscoring the spiritual nature of His kingdom. Another evidence is the phrase, also in verse 36, ‘My kingdom is from another place,’ indicating that God's authority operates in both the spiritual and this world. How, then, does God's kingdom operate in this world? As seen in the phrase in verse 37, ‘Everyone on the side of truth listens to me,’ it operates through spiritual allegiance. Those who belong to Jesus' spiritual kingdom listen to God’s word—whether from the pulpit, through Bible reading, in prayer, or in worship—which leads them to believe, understand, and obey. Jesus is not only a 'witness to the truth' but is the truth in person. 2) People don’t understand that this is the secret to believing in Jesus. This is why the spiritual kingdom of God, to which we belong, is fundamentally different from the kingdoms and authorities of this world.
