2025 12 07 대강절 둘째 주일 [그림자 삶] 마태복음 1:18,23 찬송가 189 마태복음 1: 18 예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그의 어머니 마리아가 요셉과 약혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니 23 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라 (개역개정) [Overshadowing Life 그림자 삶] Our lives are always overshadowed when we believe in Jesus, because from being born again we are meant to highlight the life of Jesus . Maria conceived Jesus as by the Holy Spirit, not by Joseph, her husband. We feel something mystical and marvellous about our children, from their moms’ wombs until they grow up. Beyond that, the Holy Spirit, from the beginning, freely made the cosmos, including us, by hovering over the waters. In the same way, the Holy Spirit freely made the second person of the Trinity become a human being, and so our normal way of giving birth was overshadowed. The name, “Jesus Immanel” means “salvation” and “God with us”, and these two meanings belong together. We are saved by faith from our sins. God hates our sins and therefore cannot be with us. But the Holy Spirit creates faith in us, in the same way he brought about Jesus’ birth. In the end we are with God, who has forgiven us, because by faith we trust that our sins are forgiven through Jesus’ cross. In verse 23, quoting Isaiah 7:14, salvation from sin overshadows the popular hope of political liberation for Israel at the time of Jesus, even though many people still believe in that political hope. Our believing lives overshadow worldly ones: “Therefore we do not lose heart.
