Day 60 of reading the Bible in 365 days and sharing my SOAP journaling along the way. Today’s reflection is on Mark 10:23-25, where Jesus tells His disciples how difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God. He says it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom. These verses follow the encounter with the rich young ruler and reveal that the issue is not wealth itself, but attachment to it. Riches can create a false sense of security and self-sufficiency that competes with full dependence on God.Jesus is exposing the heart. The kingdom requires surrender. What feels impossible for man becomes possible only through God.
