I'm making a Homemade Cake in a jar (Cake jar/Jar Cake) using Nigella's Cherry Almond Cake recipe my mum's favourite 😋 as part of a Mother’s Day gift/present. They are a lovely present idea for any occasion, especially during this time. It's my first time making them, bake along and let me know how you get on😁 What you’ll need: Baking Tray 10 x 8 4 mason Jam jars (I used Bonne Maman leftover Jam jars, washed and sterilised in hot water) two cookie cutters 64mm & 70mm Preheat oven 170C/Gas Mark 3 Here are the ingredients: For the Cake = Nigella's Recipe: 200g glace cherries 225g butter, softened 175g caster sugar 3 large eggs beaten (room temperature) 2-3 drops almond extract 100g ground almonds 6 table spoons of whole milk bake for 40 minutes approx Keep an eye on the cake as it may need more or less time. If more time is needed you can cover the cake loosely with foil to slow down the top of the cake from darkening.
