AlpenX 2022, Etappe 5: Von Oberstdorf nach Holzgau

Die Alpenüberquerung auf dem E5 führte uns auf unserem 5.Teilstück von Oberstdorf über die Kemptner Hütte und das Mädelejoch nach Holzgau. Mit dem Kleinbus ging es zunächst vom Busbahnhof Oberstdorf, ca. 800m) zum Berggasthof Spielmannsau (ca.1000m). Hier ging es per pedes weiter bis zum Knie, einer kleiner Andachtsstatte und Kreuzwegstation, und dann durch den Sperrbachtobel bis zur Kemptner Hütte (1844m). Nach einer anständigen Brotzeit setzten wir den Aufstieg fort zum Mädeljoch (1974m), wo auch die Grenze zwischen Deutschland und Österreich verläuft. Nun begann der etwa dreistündige Abstieg über die Rossgumpenalm (1330m), vorbei an den Simms Wasserfällen bis zum Zielort Holzgau (1100m), wo auch die berühmter Holzgauer Hängebrücke zu bewundern ist. Im Gasthof Bären fanden wir spontan Unterkunft für die Nacht. Viel Spaß mit dem Video! The crossing of the Alps on the E5 took us on our 5th section from Oberstdorf via the Kemptner Hütte and the Mädelejoch to Holzgau. We first took the minibus from the bus station in Oberstdorf (approx. 800m) to the Berggasthof Spielmannsau (approx. 1000m). Here we continued on foot to the Knie, a small place of worship and Stations of the Cross, and then through the Sperrbachtobel to the Kemptner Hütte (1844m). After a decent snack we continued the ascent to the Mädeljoch (1974m), where the border between Germany and Austria runs. Now began the approximately three-hour descent over the Rossgumpenalm (1330m), past the Simms waterfalls to the destination of Holzgau (1100m), where the famous Holzgau suspension bridge can also be admired. We spontaneously found accommodation for the night in the Gasthof Bären. Have fun with the video!
