South Carolina State Cross Country Championship Girls 4-A

The 2025 South Carolina High School League Cross Country State Championships took place on November 14-15 at the Aiken Steeplechase Horse Track. The Girls 4-A Championship was the third race of the weekend. It was an outstanding race to announce with Daya Ross (Wren) and Julia McKenna (Hilton Head) running side by side for the first two miles. Ross made a move at two miles, pushing hard the last mile, to open up. Ross took the gold medal in 18:03 for the 5K and the fastest female time for day one of championship weekend. McKenna followed, crossing the line at 18:20 to claim the silver medal. Nora Brahim (Bishop England) ran a very strong race to earn the bronze medal in 18:38, averaging right at 6:00 minute pace-per-mile for her race. Bluffton packed up well, putting four runners in the top 11 to outdistance Bishop England, 61-101 for the 4-A Girls State Championship. I really enjoyed calling this race.
