Hello Everyone, and welcome to our drone tour of St Helena Bay by Harcourts West Coast. Starting at Laingville, then across West Point fish processing factory, Steenberg's Cove, Britannica Heights & Hannas Bay St Heleena Bay has many bays covering approximately 20 kilometers of unspoiled beaches, breathtaking ocean views, and a rich blend of local culture and modern living. St Helena Bay is fast becoming a favourite destination for holidaymakers, permanent residents, and property investors alike. From here, over Harbour Lights, where our Harcourts West Coast office is located at The Palms Lifestyle Centre, overlooking the harbour area and the Glenrich Pioneer fish factory, Spar shopping, and industrial area. Located just 160 kilometres—or about a 1 ½ hour drive—from Cape Town or about 2 hours from Cape Town airport, St Helena Bay is nestled along the picturesque Cape West Coast of South Africa. Known historically for its thriving fishing industry, this serene coastal town has grown into a vibrant and sought-after community with an ideal climate. With hot summers and mild winters, summer temperatures are between 23 and 30°C, while winters remain pleasantly moderate between 12 and 20°C Then we go over the security-access-controlled Sandy Point beach estate, Columbine, and Stompneus Bay area—this is where the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama landed in 1497 during his voyage to India. He named this bay in honour of Saint Helena, mother of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. This marked the first recorded interaction between Europeans and the indigenous Khoikhoi people. The Dutch then established an outpost in the 17th century From there, is the Lucky Star factory and the security access-controlled Shelley Point golf estate that is almost entirely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It’s one of the few places where you can watch both the sunrise and sunset over the ocean and features a nine-hole golf course with clubhouse. Some areas that are close to St Helena Bay are the West Coast National Park, known for its wild flowers, mainly between August & September, which attract visitors from all over. Langebaan is where our Harcourts head office is, with other Harcourts West Coast offices that cover Yzterfontein, Malmsbery, Saldana Bay, and Vredenberg, which is approx. 15 to 20 minute drive from SHB with the West Coast shopping mall and Hospital, with Paternoster and Veldrift close by. Then continuing along the shoreline, we pass the stunning Golden Mile Beach, then over Britannia Bay, which ends at Cape St. Martin and the natural enclave of Duyker Eiland.
