#delhicrime #Dwarka #bindapur #matiyala #uttamnagar A sensational murder that has shaken trust and friendship has come to light in Dwarka, Delhi. Canteen operator Anuroop Gupta (48) was allegedly murdered by his own friend along with accomplices in a conspiracy driven by robbery and an attempt to force money transfers from his bank account. After killing him, the accused dismembered his body and dumped the parts into the Yamuna River. The remains were later recovered near Mathura. Anuroop Gupta lived in Radhika Apartments, Sector-14, Dwarka, and operated a canteen at Chhattisgarh State Bhawan. On the evening of February 18, he received a call from his acquaintance Happy alias Suraj (29), a resident of Hansi, Haryana, who invited him to a party at a flat in Matiyala, Dwarka. When Anuroop reached the flat, Suraj’s live-in partner Rakhi (21), a resident of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, and another युवक were already present. Soon after, Suraj’s associates Bhupendra (27), from Sonipat, and Balram (28), from Jhajjar, also arrived. According to the police investigation, the accused first forced Anuroop Gupta to remove the gold jewelry he was wearing. Family members stated that he typically wore around 300 to 400 grams of gold ornaments. The accused also snatched his bag containing important documents and other belongings. They then allegedly pressured him to transfer money from his bank account. When Anuroop refused, he was murdered between the night of February 19 and 20. After committing the crime, the accused allegedly dismembered the body, packed the parts into plastic bags, and transported them by car via the Yamuna Expressway toward Mathura. After crossing the Mant toll, the vehicle moved toward Vrindavan, where the body parts were dumped into the Yamuna River. On Saturday evening, five parts of the body — the head, both hands, and both legs — were recovered near the old bridge in the Jamunapar police station area of Mathura. The torso has not yet been found. Meanwhile, when Anuroop went missing, his brother Pawan Gupta filed a missing person report on February 23 at Bindapur Police Station. During the investigation, police detained and questioned several suspects, leading to the unraveling of the conspiracy. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Dwarka District Police arrested the main accused, Happy alias Suraj, along with Bhupendra, Balram, and Rakhi. The Mathura police conducted the postmortem examination with videography by a panel of doctors. The body was later handed over to the family and brought back to Delhi. Police officials stated that greed for gold and money led to the brutal crime. Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
