I woke up early in Songpan (松潘) and treated myself to a milk coffee after a long time. ☕ But it was expensive—28 yuan! 😅 🏔️ Exploring Songpan – A Gateway to Tibetan Culture Before continuing my journey, a local Tibetan family kindly offered me a traditional Tibetan breakfast. Their hospitality was heartwarming. ❤️ Songpan is a historical town with strong Tibetan influences and ancient city walls. The town is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, making it a breathtaking place. It has Buddhist temples with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Many locals wear traditional Tibetan clothing, and I could see yaks roaming around. 🚴‍♂️ Cycling Higher & Facing a Tough Decision After breakfast, I left Songpan, riding through stunning landscapes filled with Tibetan culture. 🌄 I reached an altitude of 3000m, which felt like a huge achievement on my bicycle! 🎉 🦬 I saw yaks grazing in the open fields, a true sign that I was deep in the Tibetan region. For lunch, I stopped in another small town and had some noodles. 🍜 But then, I faced a huge problem… 📍 Google Maps Warning: No Villages for 86 km! At around 3 PM, I checked Google Maps, and it showed that there was no village or shelter for the next 86 km! 🤔 I had to decide—should I take the risk or turn back? Considering the altitude, cold weather, and safety, I chose to turn back—because life comes first. 🚔 Police Help & A New Plan I went to the police station, and they took me back to Songpan to the same hotel as last night. They advised me to take a bus to cover the 86 km tomorrow, so I decided to follow their suggestion. Tomorrow, I’ll take the bus and continue my adventure beyond Songpan! 🚍
