This video explains how to search and connect with the fam through the Alumni Directory. One of the best aspects of the Portal is the ability to meet new members of the network and reconnect with friends. The best place to do this is through the Alumni Directory, which shows you which Alumni have joined the portal. If you go to the home screen of the portal, click on the 'Alumni Directory' tab to see which of your fellow YP4 Alum have joined the Portal. On the directory page, you can see the names and profiles of folks who have recently joined. If you want to check out someone’s personal profile, click on their image and you will be directed to their profile. From their profile, you can send that Alum a connection request to add them to your personal network, similar to how Facebook functions. On the Alumni Directory page, you’ll also find a list of benefits of joining the Portal and a search engine that allows you to search for specific Alumni. You have the ability to search by keywords such as peoples’ names and locations. You can also run an advanced search [click Arrow next to Advanced Search] and look for other Alumni based on their name, city, and country. Once you click the search button, a list of the Alumni that match your search will appear. Click on their name or image and access their personal profiles. The final function of the 'Alumni Directory' tab is inviting your friends from YP4 to join the portal and your network. Under the 'People You May Know' section, click on 'Click here to invite your friends' and you will be directed to a page where you can send invitations to other YP4 Alumni to join the Portal. You can update the subject line, add your friends’ email addresses, and send them a personalized message to join YP4’s Alumni Portal. Be sure to invite all of your YP4 friends and fellows’ from your class year to join and connect with you on the Portal. Also, be sure to revisit the Alumni Directory each time you log in so you can see the new members on the Portal and add them to your personal network.
