Hello, Internet and WELCOME to Retro Nick Relics! The show where I scour the Internet, to find all the weird stuff YOU have never played and give my 2-bit opinion on these 8 through 32-bit… relics. People were so stoked for my review of Splatterhouse on the Turbografx-16 that I had to go BACK, to the mansion! Or rather, the backup mansion or "Shin Splatterhouse" as it's known in Japan, because I'm reviewing Splatterhouse 2! Or Splatterhouse Part 2, as it's known in its native Japan. Rick returns 3 months following his adventure in the West mansion, to try and rescue his girlfriend, Jennifer. The terror masks beckons him, promising that she lives and that he must find her in the void through a portal hidden in a secret second house, or Shin Splatterhouse, located on an island in the middle of a lake near the ruins of the West Mansion. We also look at light regional differences and the classic mask hack by Fusaru. Don't miss it! Sources. Splatterhouse 2 gameplay captured through a backed-up ROM of the game played through Retro Arch with a Retro-Bit Sega Saturn game pad and recorded using OBS Studio at 60 frames per second. Splatterhouse 2 is the property of Namco. Splatterhouse 2 Classic Mask Hack by Fusaru, on Romhacking.net RNR Theme: Powerup! A HUGE thank you to the Retro Game Squad podcast, who offered suggestions for the title and feedback on my progress, and who are promoting the show and being generally awesome, standup guys! They often have me on to talk about more obscure Japanese games that no one around here has ever heard of! You can find them here, at http://www.retrogamesquad.com. You can hear yours truly wax nostalgic on their Turbografx-16 and Sega Saturn episodes, as well as their co-op games and PC-Engine episodes. Alnd thank you to Vito Gesualdi who took the time to offer some helpful critique with my background graphics, which is why we have the nice, subtle diagonal logos slowly gliding by with scanlines instead of a bright, red mess. Check out his channel at / vito , or listen to his podcast “The Biggest Problem in the Universe,” and vote on all the problems at http://wwww.biggestproblem.com Finally, a special thank you to Unplugged Gameboy, who gave me the generous plug when his Xbox Series X tweet went viral. Follow him here! https://x.com/RetroRelapstic You can read the entire Takashi Oda interview on The West Mansion, right here: https://splatterhouse.kontek.net/oda-... If you like what you’ve seen, please tune in next time to see what relics I dig up next! Also feel free to follow me on twitter, at http://www.x.com/retron8, where I spew more opinions, share memes, and interact with other Retronauts out there. Thank you so much for watching! I’m RetroNick, and you’d be too if you were me!
