In this quick maintenance video I show how to mount the engine protector back on the BMW R1200GS (2008). The engine protector (also called engine guard or skid plate) protects the underside of the engine from stones, dirt and off-road impacts. Mounting it correctly is important so it sits secure and does not vibrate loose. As always on this channel, I show the job step-by-step in the simple Old Mechanic style, so you can easily do this yourself at home. Doing your own motorcycle maintenance saves a lot of money, and with the right tools it’s often easier than most riders think.
