Controlling the light is necessary to work efficiently in the OR: to obtain this control, the reflection technologies of surgical lamps must be carefully studied. The purpose of this video is therefore to illustrate the various ways in which surgical lights produce and direct light, between theoretical principles and practical applications. Following the chronological development of scialytic lamps, we will start with halogen lights, which exploited the principles of indirect reflection, and we will then address LED lamps, which initially only implemented direct reflection.
