Please Help Theresa Fight for Her Life Hello everyone, My name is Theresa, and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with blood cancer. Hearing those words broke me — but I told myself I would stay strong and fight with everything I had. I started treatment here in the UK, and for a little while, I had hope that I could beat this disease. Then everything fell apart. My visa expired, and because of that, my treatment was stopped immediately. I was told I could no longer continue care unless I paid £70,000. I remember sitting there in shock, trying to understand how something as precious as life could come down to money and paperwork. Now, I am at home, weak and scared. Each day, I can feel my body getting worse, and it’s one of the most painful feelings — not just physically, but emotionally — knowing that help exists but is out of reach because of my immigration status. I have always worked hard, paid my way, and tried to build a better future. I never imagined I would be in this situation — sick, unable to work, and begging for help just to stay alive. But I have no other choice. I want to live. I want to see tomorrow. I want to get better and, one day, give back to others the same way I’m asking for help now.
