Today I’m sharing a delicious and authentic Kerala-style fish mango curry made with raw mango and creamy coconut milk. This meen manga curry is spicy, tangy, and full of flavour just like the ones served in Kerala hotels! We start the magic in a chatti (mud pot, of course) with a splash of coconut oil, fry up some ginger, garlic, green chilli, and curry leaves till the smell hits you hard (in a good way). Then comes small onions – chopped and sautéed till soft like your Sunday mood. Add your masala powders – turmeric, chilli, coriander – roast till raw smell packs up and leaves. Time for the raw mango slices to jump in and do their tangy thing. Pour in thin coconut milk, boil till mango becomes soft-soft. Slightly mash it – this is your gravy base. Now gently drop in the fish cubes, more mango, green chillies, and curry leaves. Let it simmer like your evening plans. Finish it off with thick coconut milk, another spoon of coconut oil, and a final curry leaf toss. Give it 5 mins to rest and absorb all the love. Serve hot with rice, appam or kappa.
