Rwanda aspires to become a leading ICT Hub in Africa. Digitalization has been identified as one of the priority areas for economic growth and digital literacy is an essential skill for anyone to take part in this development. Rwanda TVET Board is in partnership with GIZ is putting efforts into projects that support teachers to improve their digital literacy and e-teaching skills. Together with the Digital Skills Foundation 30 master trainers have been trained. They are currently in the process of training up to 2500 teachers using a customized e-learning platform which they accompany though offline meetings. The teachers will apply the acquired skills in facilitating their classes while also transferring their digital skills to the students. Increasing the level of digital literacy is one of the tools that will help Rwanda to achieve NST1 targets, vision 2035 and 2050 goals.
