Overclocking Ship Components Star Citizen 3.5.1 So with the last major update a couple things did change For starters through your MFD you can not overclock your coolers number 2 heat and degradation version 1.0 came out so overclocking your components will cause the performance to decrease over time with constant use and abuse this is the same as with your graphics card or your CPU ( but you all should know this) heat is always the enemy and heat is a resort of work so more work equals more heat So 1st things 1st in order to overclock your components and/or weapons you need to go to an MFD and go to the power screen once in the power screen you'll see the Power distribution triangle if you look closely there's a items tabs if you click this items tab it will show all the components thrusters and weapons on your ship all if you do not know what the components are you can go into your mobiglass by pressing F1 going to the ship tab clicking on the current ship you have then go over to The system tabs in the top left hand corner and the propulsion tab These will show the names of all your ship components Now with this explained let's start manipulating these components Let's manipulate the weapons 1st what happens when you overclock your weapons is that it generally increases the rate of fire but this also means that they will overheat a lot quicker So you need to manage the heat by bursting the weapon Overclocking your shield generators will push them past their limits and buffing your shields a bit more And overclocking your power plant will give you more available power toward the ship But there is one important thing I need every single 1 of you to listen to *** if you are having issues with Falling out of quantum travel because your engines are overheating then this is for you because I see this everywhere all over reddit spectrum and Facebook pages for star citizen*** in order to not fall out a quantum travel in any ship big or small all you need to do is under clock your quantum drive as you can see right here my quantum drive is at full power I take the slider and I move it down to the minimal values possible after im in warp once you do this you will be fine you can fly from one end of the Galaxy to another end You do not need to overclock your quantum drive all this will Do is Expedite the spool time. as you can see here in my hawk I was able to fly across the Galaxy and I did not fall out of warp once due to overheating. Once you start coming to the end of your quantum travel make sure to put the values back to the maximum setting so that you don't take forever to calculate and spool the quantum drive due to leaving it at lower power settings This is the best way as a 3.5.1 to not fall out of warp you do not need to put yourself in stealth mode or disable any ships systems if this changes in 3.6 then i'll keep you guys updated. And lastly you cannot overclock the coolers through the MFD's so I have found out that you still have it key binding option to over and under clock or coolers GO TO OPTIONS Keybindings Advanced controls contrumization The first tab being Flight cockpit And you have the 2 key binding left blank I have blinded them but I saw nothing change inside the MFD while manipulate the 2 buttons trying to see of the coolers would change in value in terms of performance Maybe it will work for you guys, or even in the future Either way this was a basic overview Hoped this helped and fly safe all o7 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My audio interface: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...
