The birthright included both blessing and responsibility—the firstborn received double the inheritance but also carried the weight of caring for the family. We're not just recipients of grace; we're missionaries wherever we are, called to reflect the light of Jesus in a world desperate for awakening. The remedy for our tendency to trade away our birthright isn't willpower—it's immersion in God's Word, which is Jesus in book form, washing us, feeding us, and anchoring us against deception.
