This is a 16-minute video of highlights from the June 20, 1970 Major League Baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Red Sox in Boston, won by the Yankees, 8-3. It is from the WHDH TV in Boston broadcast, with Ken Coleman and Ned Martin on play by play and Johnny Pesky on analysis. Board certified Red Sox Killer (BCRSK) Mel Stottlemyre earned his eighth victory against four losses and the Yankees pounded out 15 hits to prevail at Fenway Park. Stottlemyre went the route, allowing seven hits, walking three, and striking out five. Rico Petrocelli and Billy Conigliaro nicked him with solo homers. Every player in the Yankees' starting lineup had a hit, with BCRSK Danny Cater leading the way with three singles. Boston starter Mike Nagy, who gave up four runs in four innings, took the loss. Notes: The former Ole Miss quarterback at 04:15 is Jake Gibbs. He had two hits and two RBIs ... This game has been out there, and I've had it up as part of one big file. But I'm posting all the games individually now. Box score in comments. Not copyrighted. I don't claim the rights to, and don't profit from, this video. I posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
