Dr. Rachel Sosland, Board Certified Urologist at Urology Austin, is interviewed by KXAN TV about common urological conditions that effect millions of Americans. Dr. Sosland discusses the symptoms and treatment options for urinary incontinence (stress incontinence), overactive bladder and urinary retention. She also talks about third-line therapies such as botox injections, InterStim Sacral Nerve Stimulation, and Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS). Dr. Rachel Sosland is a native Texan who recently moved back to Austin. She completed her undergraduate studies in Finance at the University of Texas at Austin, her Medical Degree at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, San Antonio, and her General Surgery Internship and Residency in Urologic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Following residency, she completed further sub-specialty Fellowship training in Continence, Neurourology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Sosland is dedicated to providing the highest quality, patient-centered care to improve her patients’ quality of life. She practices in all areas of urology, caring for both male and female patients alike. In addition to general urology, she is highly trained to provide medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, urogynecology, neurogenic bladder, and pelvic floor reconstruction in both men and women. Dr. Sosland has specific training in bladder testing for men and women to solve the most challenging cases and provide the newest, most advanced treatment options, including many minimally invasive options and utilization of the da Vinci surgical robot. She also offers solutions for overactive bladder such as in-office botox injections (within the bladder) and the surgical implantation of the InterStim Therapy device.
