I came across Fenny Free Range Eggs quite by accident, i turned into the farm's entrance by mistake, and discovered an almost unique situation, not only did they sell both Hens & Duck Eggs, they also sold a variety of other produce as well (sacks of potatoes, tomato plants & free range turkeys at Xmas) but the price of Duck Eggs (my personal favourite) was just such good value, when I first bought half a dozen Duck Eggs, they cost a mere £2,20 - and that was over 3 years ago, currently they will set you back £2.50 for the same excellent quality, golden-yoked bundle of goodness! Also, I cannot remember another outlet with an honesty-box, where you pay for your produce, can't imagine the supermarkets doing that....   Over at Spinney Bank Farm Shop, they too have more than one eye on quality & locally reared produce, we have been going there for over 5 years (we remember standing outside wearing our COVID masks) and greeted very warmly by Elaine, who is not only an experienced Butcher, but Elaine is also a qualified Chef!  So if you are unsure how to get the best from a cut of meat, Elaine is always on hand to give you a Chef's perspective, which is just an example of the personalised customer service that Elaine is well known for, her range of Sausages include my favourite (pork & tomato, alongside the famous Bridge 23 pork sausage) Asked why "Bridge 23" as so named, you only have to take a look across the field next to the Farm Shop - you will see Bridge 23 of the Ashby Canal, you certainly can't go wrong when you pay a visit (we do as often as we can)
