I've driven past the Cowshed Butchery many times, and often wondered what they had inside to tempt my tastebuds with . . . well, today I found out! You can find out more about Gorse Farm Shop at / gorsefarmshop Gorse Farm Shop has been selling local and home-grown produce since its establishment in the 1970s by Grandma Anne Vernon. However, since the addition of The Cowshed Butchery in 2019 the little shop has grown considerably! Now under the management of Anne's son David and his wife Lynda the shop employs two full-time skilled butchers, Michael and John, which has enabled all of our meat to be hung and butchered traditionally on-site. We particularly pride ourselves on our Suffolk Cross sheep and Aberdeen Angus cattle which are carefully and lovingly cared for by David's daughter, Anna to produce the best quality meat. Gorse Farm prides themselves on home-reared Aberdeen Angus Beef and Suffolk Cross lamb that are both assured under the Red Tractor Farm Assurance Scheme. These traditional native breeds provide high quality meat with more flavour and marbling than their commercial counterparts. All their animals are provided with outdoor grazing and high welfare standards to ensure that the meat they sell is the best it can be. Which means the produce they sell, is guaranteed to give a flavour to savor! Definitely a Roaming Radrunner Recommendation!
