Bluebird Bridge - Mississippi Half Step 2025

One of the first times I heard “Mississippi Half Step” played live was at the Spectrum in Philly in March of 1977 (see link below). At first, I wasn’t feeling it but about seven minutes into “Mississippi Half Step,” just before the “Across the Rio Grandeo” chorus, the band seemed to fall apart. They fell right back into place and that just blew me away. It does not sound the same way to me now when I listen to this recording because this is not that moment. I have tried many times to capture that feeling in the song and I have never come close. There was truly nothing like a Grateful Dead concert. I celebrated the sixty-year anniversary of the Grateful Dead watching Dead and Company play. They were great concerts and I enjoyed them but I found myself missing the Grateful Dead. This music video is dedicated to the Grateful Dead’s sixty-years. There is an empty wall of sound in the video because we both miss them. The audio of the guitar and piano were recorded in one take with the drums from the Alesis SR-18. New drum tracks and drum fills were added later using the SR-18. The bass was then added which was played by Kathleen on the Yamaha MODX keyboard. I also added more percussion by playing the Roland HPD-15. The video was created using Blender. Sci-Fy floating city and Starship 3D objects created by Herminio Nieves. I added the nacelles to the starship and edited the city. Cycles render engine was used to render the video for a little more realism. The Project took over sixty hours to render. The audio was recorded using Cakewalk Sonar X2 which exported the 5.1 surround audio. This 5.1 audio was then added to the video using Adobe Premiere.
