In this session, we examined one of the most challenging and eye-opening passages in Romans chapter 7. Dr. Babu guided us through Paul’s teaching on the relationship between the Law and sin, showing that while the Law itself is holy and good, sin uses the Law as a tool for deception and destruction. Paul makes it clear that the problem is not the Law but sin. The Law exposes sin, defines it, and makes it visible. Sin then twists this revelation and produces covetousness, guilt, and ultimately death. Through this passage, Paul helps us understand why the Law cannot save and why grace is essential. 👉 Highlights from this session: • The goodness of the Law. The Law is holy, righteous, and good, and it reflects God’s character. • Sin’s deception. Sin uses the Law to awaken desire and rebellion, especially through covetousness. • Paul’s pre conversion life. Paul believed he was blameless under the Law, yet he was spiritually dead without realizing it. • The Law reveals the heart. Coveting exposed the depth of sin that external obedience could never touch. • Sin as a principle. Sin operates as a power within humanity, distinct from but influenced by Satan. • Need for the Spirit. Legal effort cannot defeat sin. Only the work of the Holy Spirit can bring true victory. 📖 “So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.” Romans 7 verse 12 This session reminds us that the Law exposes our need but cannot rescue us. Sin deceives, condemns, and kills, but God uses the Law to drive us to Christ, where forgiveness, freedom, and new life are found through the Spirit.
