. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Leo Monosson who 15 years ago was a non-existent artist on YT, today belongs to the group of the most popular singing stars of the past on the same field. And, with passing time, he luckily obtained the true and real history of his turbulent life. Video: • Leo Monosson returns ... with his true his... . In the Summer 1932 Monosson visited Warsaw where he made public appearances, having been advertised as a singer singing perfectly in many languages; including Polish, one of the most difficult tongues for foreigners, especially from Western countries. He made then also a series of recordings for Lonora Recording Company, whose recording quality was unfortunately not of a high standard. Judging by what we can hear on these two sides in the video, Polish language in Monosson's articulation is surprisingly excellent: in the melody, accentuation and diction, all those "shesheshe zheezhee" typical Polish sounds, included. Both sides of the record are, regretfully, much worn. First side - a Polish tango composed by Zygmunt Karasiński; "Jak we śnie" (Like In a Dream). Second side - a German tango composed by Rotter and Kaper; "Spiel mir auf der Balalaika einen Russischen tango !" in Polish language version. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
