I've lived in Shanghai for so long, but I've always been active near home and have never explored other markets for breakfast and food, nor have I really walked through the city's streets in depth. This time I went to Jialing Market in Xuhui District to embark on a carb journey. I also went to Changning District and Huangpu District to look for time-honored delicacies. In the city, there are so many exquisite, creative and interesting places that you can’t even keep up. The biggest difference from Europe is that this city is always being renewed. Amid the skyscrapers, fashionably dressed passers-by exude an effortless sense of relaxation; in the crowded alleys, sleepy-eyed workers line up to buy breakfast for a few dollars. A blend of sophistication and simplicity. Exquisiteness is a unique quality of the city of Shanghai. In the old alleys along the streets, there are not only quaint old houses but also unique coffee shops. I never thought that a sense of history and sophistication could be so compatible. Young friends or couples can be seen everywhere on the street, sitting together chatting and admiring the beautiful sunset. Take a leisurely stroll under the sycamore trees, every step is a different scenery, and every place is uniquely exquisite. Freedom, self-confidence, romance and refinement seem to overflow in every young person. Although we will still have to work hard for our lives tomorrow, at least during the city walk, our soul and body belong only to ourselves. Compared to the prosperity of Pudong and Lujiazui, what belongs to everyone in Shanghai are the alleys. People shuttle through these small alleys and experience a different side of the city. I think that in addition to seeing the Oriental Pearl Tower, Lujiazui and other high-rise buildings in Shanghai, the most important thing to see is the alleys that shuttle through the city. Because only there can you see the truest image of old Shanghai; there, the anxiety and tension of the industrialized city seem to disappear, and you will see the Shanghai girl who wears high heels and light makeup all day long, and then goes to the intersection to buy some vegetables in slippers without makeup after returning to her home in the alley; the children at the door are playing games in groups, noisy but calmer than the outside world. The alleys in these cities have become a habitat for culture and history. They are like gullies in the city, and also like blood vessels that add color to the city. #Shanghai Food #Chinese Food #Snacks
